“The number of children and grandchildren with cancer in their bones, with leukemia in their blood, or with poison in their lungs might seem statistically small to some, in comparison with natural health hazards. But this is not a natural health hazard—and it is not a statistical issue. The loss of even one human life, or the malformation of even one baby—who may be born long after we are gone—should be of concern to us all. Our children and grandchildren are not merely statistics toward which we can be indifferent.”

The REAL Reason Death Valley National Park Has Suspended All Endurance Races?

FROM: Run It Fast (A long distance runner blog)

[The following is what I've deciphered as the reason DVNP has suspended all permits for endurance activities within the park including the Badwater 135 Ultramarathon. DVNP has neither confirmed or denied my theory.]
Death Valley National Park Website: “Effective immediately Death Valley National Park will temporarily discontinue issuance of running and bicycling event permits. Future event permits will not be considered until a thorough safety evaluation of this type of activity has been completed.”
AdventureCORPS Website in Response to DVNP’s Decision: AdventureCORPS and Chris Kostman have hosted 89 events since 1990 under DVNP special event permits without ever being refused a permit by DVNP, the Department of Transportation, or Inyo County. There have been no deaths, no car crashes, no citations issued, and only a few evacuations by ambulance after literally millions of miles covered on foot or by bike by event participants.
Death Valley National Park is host to most famously the Badwater 135 Ultramarathon, along with The 508(cycling), CORPScampDeath Valley Trail Marathon, and several other endurance sports.
So why all of a sudden, out of the blue, would Death Valley National Park immediately suspend all running and cycling activities within the park without any warning or discussion?
The one word possibility - RADIOACTIVITY.
EnviroReporter, Michael Collins, tested the radiation at Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park on November 23, 2013 (video below).
He measured the radiation at Furnace Creek at an astonishing 31.5x background via a water sample.
Collins states after the testing, “These are levels that far exceed what is considered safe. California Highway Patrol considers anything over 3x background to cause a hazardous material situation.”
Collins did tests over two days at varying spots across Death Valley. They read anywhere from 26.7x to 31.5x background.

ARE ALASKAN AIRLINES FLIGHT ATTENDANTS GETTING SICK FROM FUKUSHIMA RADIA...

Flu hits Alaska Airlines crews, canceling flights

                FROM: USA Today (December 24,2013)

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Alaska Airlines canceled 24 flights on Sunday and Monday after flu-stricken pilots and flight attendants called in sick.
Alaska spokeswoman Bobbie Egan says about 270 passengers were affected by canceled flights. Another 14 flights were cancelled Sunday due to bad weather.
Egan says a "very unusual" cold and flu season hit the airline's Pacific Northwest hub, and the entire region was affected.

Mysterious illness strikes hundreds of flight attendants, causes rashes and hair loss - are 'toxic uniforms' really to blame or is it Fukushima?

FROM: Natural News (May 16,2012)

(NaturalNews) Hundreds of Alaska Airlines flight attendants have filed a formal complaint about uniforms they suspect might be causing their skin to rash and develop lesions, and their hair to fall out. But based on the timing of the symptoms and their relation to similar symptoms in local marine life and polar bear populations, it appears as though radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster may also be a potential culprit.

KING 5 News in Seattle, Wash., first broke the news about the "mystery illness" that has reportedly affected at least 280 flight attendants thus far. According to accounts, those afflicted by the condition say they have developed persistently itchy skin, skin lesions, and hair loss, all of which they suspect may have to do with newer flight uniforms that allegedly contain tributyl phosphate, a toxic organophosphorus compound linked to skin problems (http://www.rightdiagnosis.com).

But not everyone is convinced that the uniforms are to blame, including Alexander Higgins who recently connected the dots to discover a potential link to the Fukushima Daiichi disaster. After comparing the flight attendants' symptoms to those reported on polar bears and marine life from the northwest U.S. throughout the past year, the timing and correlation of the two is highly suspect.

Are Alaska Airlines flight attendants suffering the effects of nuclear radiation fallout?

NOTE: I post this and leave it open to individual interpretation. However, I have never heard of another airline having to cancel 24 flights due to a "very unusual cold and flu" season. I work in a large government office with many members of the general public in and out all day including homeless and sick people. There has been very little absence this year due to colds and flu. How odd that crews from 24 separate planes all fall ill at the exactly the same time. If this is "the flu" then it is clear these staff members all have compromised immune systems. Precisely what happens from consistent smaller doses of  radiation. The jet stream runs high in altitude and tends to loop toward Alaska and northern Canada before dipping into the Midwest. No one really knows what is happening at Fukushima but from what is known it is clear there are three melted reactors that are open venting radionucleides into the atmosphere and all three have the potential to go critical and for what is known may have in a small way sending large doses of radioactive elements into the upper atmosphere. They have been doing this for three years. Eventually the entire world is going to wake to the dire threat Fukushima poses but I am sad to say I believe it may already be too late. The silence from the corporate media and efforts to "explain away" what is nearly obvious has entranced the world into a stupor and is preventing the general populace from seeing our goose is quite literally being cooked.

Japan’s Deadly New ‘Fukushima Fascism’

From: Cyrano's Journal Today

Fukushima continues to spew out radiation. The quantities seem to be rising, as do the impacts.
The site has been infiltrated by organized crime.
There are horrifying signs of ecological disaster in the Pacific and human health impacts in the U.S.
But within Japan, a new State Secrets Act makes such talk punishable by up to ten years in prison.
Taro Yamamoto, a Japanese legislator, says the law “represents a coup d’etat” leading to “the recreation of a fascist state.” The powerful Asahi Shimbun newspaper compares it to “conspiracy” laws passed by totalitarian Japan in the lead-up to Pearl Harbor, and warns it could end independent reporting on Fukushima.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been leading Japan in an increasingly militaristic direction. Tensions have increased with China. Massive demonstrations have been renounced with talk of “treason.”
But it’s Fukushima that hangs most heavily over the nation and the world.

FUKUSHIMA REALITY REVEALED: ‘SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATIONS’ FOR CANCERS DEBUNKED AS ‘DELIBERATELY MISLEADING’.

From: Before it's News

USS Reagan & Fukushima cancer levels miles above comparative levels. US Navy still silent on comparative navy vessel stats

Slowly, the world is waking up: this disaster is real
We have seen strong evidence of poor build quality in the original General Electric construction at Fukushima. We have seen example after example of covered up seriousness and urgency by both Tepco the plant owners, and the Tokyo government keen to keep its ownership of the 2020 Olympic Games. Now evidence is coming through to flatly contradict the Establishment reassurances about cancer levels both among Fukushima residents, and on board USS Ronald Reagan itself

Before we get going, the good news is that California-based lawyer Charles Bonner has confirmed to me that he is still heavily involved in the case of 70+ US navy personnel currently attempting to get redress for various illnesses that have all the hallmarks of radiation sickness. I hope to be able to interview him at some stage over the holidays, but in the meantime there have been three major debunking developments in relation to the Establishment’s “explanations” of what the truth is about the USS Reagan’s crew, and the link between rapid cancer development (RCD) and the Fukushima incident.

DEBUNK 1: ‘THESE LEVELS OF INCIDENCE ARE WHAT YOU’D EXPECT IN A SHIP’S COMPLEMENT OF 5,500′.

Not so…or indeed anywhere near it. I’m indebted to veteran Slogger Tig for pointing out that thelifetime prevalence of testicular cancer in US men is 0.4%….and 5.5 per 100,000 with the median age at 33.

So in each group of 100 navy men you would expect 0.0055 of them to get testicular cancer anyway. Aged 18-25, somewhat less. You’d need a group of 20,000 navy male personnel to even get 1 case of tc via ‘natural’ occurrence.

The USS Ronald Reagan has 5,500 crew, and nowhere near all of them are male. There are in excess of 20 cases of testes ccancer thus far….and counting.

DEBUNK 2: ‘WHY AREN’T THE FUKUSHIMA LOCALS SUFFERING IN THE SAME WAY?”
They are.

The media blackout surrounding the Japanese nuclear power plant is slowly imploding. Fifty-nine young people in Fukushima prefecture have been diagnosed with or are suspected of having thyroid cancer. Notably, all of newly diagnosed were younger than 18 at the time of the nuclear meltdown in the area in March 2011. They were identified in tests by the prefectural government, which had covered 239,000 people by the end of September.

Toshihide Tsuda, a professor of epidemiology at Okayama University has called upon the government to prepare for a possible increase in cases in the future. “The rate at which children in Fukushima prefecture have developed thyroid cancer can be called frequent, because it is several times to several tens of times higher,” Japan’s Asahi Shimbun quoted him as saying.

He’s not wrong. Fukushima cancer incidence compared to registration statistics throughout Japan from 1975 to 2008 showed an annual average of five to 11 people in their late teens to early 20s developing cancer for every 1 million people in Japan as a whole.

In Fukushima, there 59 cases out of 238,000 in three years.

DEBUNK 3: ‘CANCERS DON’T DEVELOP THAT QUICKLY AFTER RADIATION EXPOSURE’
Of all the expert ‘opinions’, the unscientific nature of this one baffles me – but is so symptomatic of contemporary bollocks about ‘settled science’. We have never before seen – not even at Chernobyl – radioactive exposure like this in so many ways at such close quarters.

Says a senior medical San Francisco Slogger source, “Everything that’s come out of Fukushima and Washington thus far has been bullsh*t. The idea of cancer development rates being an accepted constant like some scientific norm is deliberately misleading….as every single statement from those concerned to cover up this disaster has been. This is new territory in that there has been atmospheric exposure, waterborne carriage, and loss of control on a hitherto unexperienced scale. The US government should stop treating its citizens like children, and start giving everyone on the West Coast the real heads-up on the situation.”

Because it’s never happened before doesn’t mean it can’t….as we’re about to find out when globalist neoliberalism finally comes apart.

I’m still waiting for a response from US Navy stats…four days on, they have yet to acknowledge my query…which, in the end, I had to route through another pc. I’ll keep you posted on Charles Bonner’s response: he has asked me to call him back, and I will.

Not a nice way to end the run-up to Christmas, but I think there are several signs – and real hope – that in the very best traditions of the Saviour so many wish to honour tomorrow, the ultimate truth will emerge, and justice will be done.

I do wish you all a great season. Stay tuned.

‘Japan too proud to ask for Fukushima foreign help’

The nuclear energy industry in Japan relies on unskilled and uneducated daily workers, and even now the country will not invite foreign experts to help with the Fukushima cleanup due to national pride, Alex Kerr, an expert on Japan, told RT.
RT: There have already been countless reports of toxic leaks and here's a fresh one in a new reactor. Why can’t they get control here?
Alex Kerr: It’s an ongoing story. The real problem is that the government has put so much energy into hiding the information that at this point I can say that nobody knows what’s really going on.

Nearly three years after the destruction of Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, at least 70 U.S. Navy sailors who participated in relief efforts after the accident have been suffering from radiation sickness and even cancer as the crew of the USS Ronald Reagan was exposed to fallout.
“I was standing on the flight deck, and we felt this warm gust of air, and, suddenly, it was snowing,” sailor Lindsay Cooper told the New York Post in an interview published Monday. The metallic-tasting snow was caused by the freezing Pacific air that mixed with the radioactive fallout from the Fukushima power plant that was wrecked in the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
Fukushima was the world's worst nuclear disaster since the meltdown of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor in Ukraine in 1986. Japanese utility crews are still struggling to contain radioactive water leaking from the plant into the Pacific Ocean. It has been estimated that some 300 tons of toxic water enter the ocean each day.
“We joked about it: ‘Hey, it’s radioactive snow!’ ” Cooper said. “I took pictures and video.”
As a result of her exposure, Cooper is facing serious health problems.
“My thyroid is so out of whack that I can lose 60 to 70 pounds in one month and then gain it back the next,” said Cooper. “My menstrual cycle lasts for six months at a time, and I cannot get pregnant. It’s ruined me.”

Record level of radiation at Fukushima

From: Undernews

TEPCO, the operator of crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, said on Saturday that it found a record 1.9 million becquerels per liter of radioactive substances at the damaged reactor. The company added that the latest examination of groundwater around Reactor 4 has raised concerns about another leak at the site. The analysis of water samples taken from 25 meters beneath Reactor 4’s well has shown that there is radioactivity in the groundwater. Nuclear radiation exposure can cause serious health problems. The first signs of nuclear radiation exposure are nausea and vomiting. It can increase the probability of developing some other diseases, mainly cancer, tumors, and genetic disorders.

Note: Each day brings another discovery of a leak at Fukushima. The news reports this as "new" but it is already known that the situation at Fukushima is more than dire and TEPCO lives in a world where deceit is the norm. It is likely two, three (or more) times worse than is reported. The jury is still out on why our ocean life is dying and behaving strangely but you cannot push this much toxin into a body of water and not expected life to die. Despite the statements that the "dose is too low".  This is a planet changing event and the future of all of our generations is at peril. Japan, nor any other country for that matter, is not taking responsibility to end this disaster with a war like vengeance against this invisible terror. There is no peril or terrorist on earth at this point that is more deadly than this plant. Will it ever be over?  That is doubtful.

JAPAN,140 MILLION DEAD WITHIN 5 YEARS

Fukushima is collapsing - the worst is coming...

Fukushima Update: Highest Radiation Levels Found to Date

From: Nation of Change

If you’ve been paying attention to the Fukushima incident, you will want to be informed of this newly released information by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). 63,000 becquerels of radioactive materials have been detected in groundwater samples taken from a well at the No. 1 nuclear plant, just five miles from the coast, a massive increase from the previous high level of radiation leakage detected at just 67 becquerels, according to the company.
The sample was taken less than two weeks ago, and the company is taking no measures to be certain the tainted water doesn’t flow into the sea. Even TEPCO’s own standards require that anything tainted with strontium, tritium and caesium to these levels should not be dumped into the Pacific Ocean. In a recent press release, the company outlines the tritium and cesium density of the Daiichi plant water samples.

Record Radiation: Handling of Fukushima cleanup is 'comedy of errors'

Texting While the Planet Burns

From: Fort Worth Weekly

Lately, I’ve noticed the silence around a growing cataclysm — the disaster at the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan. There’s a China syndrome, ongoing, that threatens the entire Pacific Ocean and could also result in a radiation release equal to 15,000 Hiroshima bombs.
And we’re arguing over Obamacare!
It’s tempting to blame our lack of awareness of such an event on the abysmal news media. Imagine if Walter Cronkite had somehow never mentioned the Vietnam War. Now, with the passage of Japan’s new state secrets law, designed to silence criticism of the government and the country’s failed power plant, it’s a fairly safe bet that if the worst comes, we — the little people — will be the last to know. Not that there’s much we could do if we did know, I suppose, other than telling our children to crawl under their desks or deciding to invest in space colonization.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe everyone is aware of what’s happening, but they’re choosing to look the other way. Well, why not? We’re already overwhelmed. Record numbers of us are broke, out of work, or just struggling to hang on. Some 50 million Americans are going hungry, and one in five are children. Not many people are looking at that, either — except for those it’s happening to, of course.

Poor quality of construction, structural defects and personnel negligence lead to Fukushima disaster - experts

From: The Voice of Russia

New facts about the Fukushima nuclear power plant are coming out now that two and a half years have elapsed since the dreadful disaster in March 2011. According to a local labour commission, low-skilled workers, illegally recruited in Japan's poorest areas, were used in building the nuclear power plant in the 1960s. The poor quality of construction, as well as structural defects and personnel negligence had eventually triggered disastrous consequences.

The off-shore quake-caused tsunami hit the Fukushima plant when Naoto Kan was the Prime Minister of Japan. He has since admitted that the Japan Atomic Energy Agency had lied to him about the situation at the plant. "We were unprepared for the horrible accident," he said.
Following the powerful 9.0 magnitude quake on March 11th 2011 the plant's automatic checkout and control systems shut down the reactors and cut them off current. But the chain reaction in the reactors was still on, which called for their continuous cooling. The pumps immediately activated the stand-by diesel generators. However, these were able to operate for no more than half an hour, until the huge tsunami wave hit the plant and flooded the turbine island, causing the pumps to grind to a standstill. Even the brought-in mobile generators failed to restart the pumps. Without cooling, the reactors overheated causing core meltdowns and subsequent radioactive contamination of the nearby area. Meanwhile, the zirconium entrails of reactors were oxidized by water vapour, releasing hydrogen in the process. Deputy Head of the Russian Duma Committee on Natural Resources,Mikhail Shingarkin, feels that it was possible to avoid this kind of scenario.

Navy sailors have radiation sickness after Japan rescue

From: New York Post

Navy sailor Lindsay Cooper knew something was wrong when billows of metallic-tasting snow began drifting over USS Ronald Reagan.
“I was standing on the flight deck, and we felt this warm gust of air, and, suddenly, it was snowing,” Cooper recalled of the day in March 2011 when she and scores of crewmates watched a sudden storm blow toward them from the tsunami-torn coast of Fukushima, Japan.
The tall 24-year-old with a winning smile didn’t know it then, but the snow was caused by the freezing Pacific air mixing with a plume of radioactive steam from the city’s shattered nuclear reactor.
Now, nearly three years after their deployment on a humanitarian mission to Japan’s ravaged coast, Cooper and scores of her fellow crew members on the aircraft carrier and a half-dozen other support ships are battling cancers, thyroid disease, uterine bleeding and other ailments.
“We joked about it: ‘Hey, it’s radioactive snow!’ ” Cooper recalled. “I took pictures and video.”
But now “my thyroid is so out of whack that I can lose 60 to 70 pounds in one month and then gain it back the next,” said Cooper, fighting tears. “My menstrual cycle lasts for six months at a time, and I cannot get pregnant. It’s ruined me.”
The fallout of those four days spent off the Fukushima coast has been tragic to many of the 5,000 sailors who were there.

Japan to extend Fukushima radiation cleanup work by up to 3 yrs

From: Global Post

The government will have to extend its decontamination work following the 2011 crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant by a maximum of three years, government officials said Sunday.
The Environment Ministry will shortly release a new schedule for radiation cleanup work, which was scheduled to be completed by the March 31 end of fiscal 2013 under the initial plan, according to the officials.
The government will try to complete the work before reorganizing in fiscal 2017 areas around the crippled plant, currently divided into three zones based on radiation levels.

Abe’s second strike against freedoms

From: the Japan Times

The Abe administration has reportedly started preparations for introducing the “crime of conspiracy” by revising the law on the punishment of organized crime and the control of proceeds resulting from crime.
Although it has not been decided when a revision bill will be submitted to the Diet, there is the danger that it will give the government a strong weapon to control civic movements, especially those that oppose government policies.
The recently enacted state secrets law will not only greatly limit people’s access to government information but also punish those who try to get secret information even if they didn’t know it was designated as secret. The introduction of the crime of conspiracy will further weaken freedoms that have already been hollowed out by the secrecy law. So it is important for citizens to start a widely based action to stop this move by the administration.
If the crime of conspiracy is introduced, one could be punished for joining others to plan a crime even if it is not actually carried out or even if no concrete preparations have been made — a huge departure from the current principle that arrests can be made only when a crime has actually been committed or attempted.

Tokyo to speed up evacuation planning

From: the Japan Times

Olympic risks raised following disaster panel's quake report

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is set to advance efforts to draw up evacuation plans for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games, after a key panel last week pointed out a 70 percent likelihood of a large earthquake striking the capital “within 30 years.”
The report released last week by the Central Disaster Management Council apparently urged Tokyo to take steps. Some 10 million people are expected to flock to the capital to witness the sporting spectacle.
By contrast, the University of Tokyo warned in January 2012 that there is a 70 percent chance of a powerful earthquake striking the capital by 2016, and a 98 percent chance within 30 years.

FUKUSHIMA, RADIATION and YOU

There are mothers on Earth
Preparing their children
For an irradiated future
There are no bomb shelters in this scenario
Just life with Mother Nature
On the run
And a growing taste for Prussian Blue
Fukushima, Radiation and You

There are irradiated COWS running the roads leading in and out of Fukushima.
It is beef that NOBODY wants, since it has been tested as LETHAL, with 500 times
the Caesium 137 that is safe for the human body to consume.

1, 257 of these cows were shipped all over Japan. People ATE them. The government has done little. Farms have been abandoned. Cattle and Horses are running free, and being run over by the TEPCO workers....

There is a safe amount of radiation that we can eat.... LESS than the amount of radiation that is now in the environment, courtesy of our friends at TEPCO. Everyone seems to be blaming the Japanese. Well, those reactors, particularly Reactor #4, the villain of today's tale, was designed and assembled in America....

Reactor #4, folks, by all current indicators, is about ready to BLOW. This is no paranoid alert. Seems that all the emergency work that was done, when the attitude was that the people at Tepco just HAD to do something to staunch the flow of radiation into the atmosphere....

All those slapdash, harried, haphazard, CLUMSY attempts at sticking a finger into a nuclear dike....

Are contributing to the problems of TODAY. All that shielding is failing, and so much pent-up radiation is spewing forth that no one can get close enough, even with machines, to do anything about it.

One would think that a lesson has been learned by ALL because of the hostile, volatile events at Fukushima. NO.

The Japanese Nuclear Regulatory Authority has stepped in and halted the opening of a NEW Nuclear Plant in Japan, the MONJU fast breeder reactor Facility. Over 14, 000 parts that are CRITICAL to the safe running of a nuclear reactor were NEVER tested. Not by any governing body in Japan. The facility failed 4 crucial Anti-Terrorism tests. The grounds are streaming with unidentified visitors. No identity checks. No background checks on those with access to sensitive material...

Say, just how deadly can radiation be? Back in 1958 at the Los Alamos Nuclear Facility in New Mexico, an unlucky chemist named Cecil Kelley was exposed to a 200 microsecond blast of neutrons and gamma rays. He collapsed to the ground screaming that he was on fire. He turned purple and died in agony within 35 hours.

It is too late for fall-out shelters. Reactor #4 has been spewing radiation into the air 24 hours a days, every second of every day since the accident. And it is just getting worse.

In fact, it is coming to a head. All that water. All that radiation. All that STEAM. Something's gotta give. Where will YOU be when it happens?

The farmers with the irradiated cows in Japan, those that have chosen to STAY on their farms near Fukushima, loyal to their animals and to their way of life till the end, must be checked daily for radiation poisoning. Still, they won't leave. One farmer loaded his irradiated cattle onto a truck, drove to TEPCO Headquarters and DEMANDED more testing be done at his dairy.

Legendary Japanese politeness, patience and respect for authority, especially the authority of major corporations, is being tested to the limit. But, in Japan, just as in America: Who stands up for the farmer? Who stands up for the mother? Who stands up for the working family? The displaced?

NO ONE.

You lose your insurance and get an apology and a pat on the head, without a single assurance that you will have your problem handled in a satisfactory manner.

There is an ongoing NUCLEAR situation in the world, and America becomes embroiled in a spat over chemical weapons. A spat America loses. The same America that laughed at the Russians for their failed efforts in Afghanistan, only to make the same attempt a few years after the Russians pulled out...

The same America that glossed over Three Mile Island. The same America that dropped a few Nuclear Bombs over Savannah, Georgia and quite a few other places back in the fifties and sixties, then lied and covered up every incident and threatened witnesses into SILENCE, since there were no detonations....

The SAME America that ran a few stories on the accident at Chernobyl, then forgot about it.

The same America that has a permanent Nuclear Arsenal on TRAINS, constantly moving them through the neighborhoods they are made to PROTECT.

We are storing MILLIONS of spent fuel rods in mountains and land fills all over this country....

The same type at fault in the Fukushima incident.

There are contaminated COLTS sick on farms near Fukushima
In pre-apocalyptic Japan
Farmers making speeches and checking themselves for bleeding
Women in America and their children
Living in tin houses
Like Kansas Dust Storm Mothers
No way to keep the sickness out
When the only thing that gets one
though the day is Prussian Blue
It's Fukushima, Radiation and You.....
